Getting to Nelson: Please note that you need to make your own travel arrangements and
remember to book early to get the best fares.
Nelson only operates New Zealand internal flights. You are likely to fly into New
Zealand's major International airports in Auckland or Christchurch and will need to
connect to a domestic flight internally. The journey from Nelson airport to the Monaco
hotel by taxi will cost approx NZ$15-$20 one way, and takes around 10 minutes. The
cost of airport transfers is not included in your registration fee.
Arrival in New Zealand: Biosecurity Procedures
The New Zealand Government has very tight biosecurity inspection at all international
airports. No food is allowed to be brought into New Zealand. On arrival in New Zealand,
all international passengers are asked to fill in the declaration. Then all luggage is
screened by X-ray and may be physically searched. Detector dogs which can smell food
and plant material on people and in bags operate at all airports. There is a fine of
NZ$200 for any undeclared restricted or prohibited goods found on anyone arriving in

Visa Requirements
Currently travellers from more than 50 countries do not require a Visitors Visa for stays less than 3 months. You do not need a
visa or permit to visit New Zealand if you are:

A citizen of a country which has a visa waiver agreement with NZ. Click here to find out more;

A New Zealand citizen or Resident Permit Holder. However, all visitors require:

A passport that is valid for at least three months after your departure from New Zealand;
•
An onward or return ticket to a country that you have permission to enter;
•
Sufficient money to support yourself during your stay, approximately NZ$1,000 per month per person.

Health Insurance & Vaccinations Requirements
We recommend that you have comprehensive medical insurance for the duration of your visit. If you are from the United
Kingdom or Australia, you will get the same immediate medical coverage as a New Zealand citizen or resident due to the
Reciprocal Health Agreements.
Vaccinations are required if travelling to New Zealand from yellow-fever-infected area. This is most likely to affect delegates
travelling to New Zealand from certain regions in Latin America or Africa. Please check with your local travel agent or health
centre for the vaccination requirements
