A tour of the city centre, focusing on the restoration of heritage buildings and innovative new buildings being constructed that incorporate low damage technology. This bus and walking tour will take approximately three and a half hours. It will leave from the conference venue and terminate at the city centre hotels in the early evening.
Sunday April 3rd afternoon: Christchurch City and Surrounding Areas: Earthquake impacts and mitigation measures. A partner friendly tour of the city, including the residential red-zone, port-hills and a trip on the Christchurch gondola. This tour will take approximately three to four hours and will focus on geotechnical and other aspects of the Canterbury earthquakes and the mitigation works that have been undertake
