PHYSICS the fundamental science in the International Year of Light
You are invited to participate in the 17th New Zealand Institute of Physics (NZIP) and The New Zealand Physics Teachers (Physikos) Conference to be held at the The University of Waikato, Hamilton, from Monday July 6 to Wednesday July 8. The NZIP Conference, which incorporates the New Zealand Physics Teachers Conference, addresses all of physics from the earliest revelations in schools to the very young to the loftiest planes of thought in earnest research institutions. An ambition of the Organisers this year is to make the Biennial Conference the place at which students of physics of all ages meet and “network”. The International Year of Light will be a scintillating back-drop to the Conference in 2015. The Conference will offer up-to-the-minute results from the frontiers of research in physics. There will be a presentations on current educational theories and practice in the teaching of physics.
There is a range of exciting Invited Speakers with outstanding communication skills , and a strong emphasis on interactive displays and poster activities for students especially, teachers and researchers. It will be possible for all participants to attend most of the many stimulating lectures . The intention is that all presentations should be intellectually accessible, to a good degree, to all attendees.
And finally, take time to explore the Waikato region’s attractions, including the Waitomo caves, Raglan’s famous beaches and surf and Hobbiton, all within easy drive of Hamilton.
See you in the Waikato.
