It looks to showcase the processes that have left their geomorphic signatures in the landscape. But the trip goes beyond the physical landscape by layering the cultural, historical and environmental dimensions and how these are being developed as the basis for a Geopark on Te P\u0101taka o Rak\u0101ihaut\u016b Banks Peninsula. The field trip will cross into private land to an isolated and rarely visited coastal exposure with spectacular cliffs, volcanic deposits, valley fill sequences, and a NZ fur seal colony. This tour will take you to a spectacular location that will give you the essence of Te P\u0101taka-o-R\u0101kaihaut\u016b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start and finish locations:<\/strong> The trip begins and ends at Te Pae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start and finish times:<\/strong> Participants need to arrive to Te Pae at 7.30 am for a 7.40 am departure. The trip will endeavour to return to Te Pae at ~6.00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What to bring:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sun protection (sunhat, sunscreen)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swimming gear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Warm clothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water\/windproof jacket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hiking shoes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal medication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What to expect:<\/strong> Short walks on stable ground, including some small hillwalking on uneven tracks \u2013 optional.
