Topics
You will be asked to indicate the topic which your abstract is most relevant to. The topics include the following:
- Resuscitation, first aid or emergency care education
- Science and Research
- Data or registry report
- Practice - implementation of guidelines, protocols or procedures
- Other aspects of resuscitation, first aid or emergency care
Early Career Investigator Grants
The NZ Resuscitation Council is pleased to be able to make available grants of up to $NZ1000 to two early career investigators (undergraduate student, graduate student, post-doctoral researcher, or less than five years out of a doctoral program in a relevant field) to assist with their registration and travel costs to NZ Resus 2026.
Grant applications can be submitted via the abstract submission portal. Successful applicants will have demonstrated in their abstract submission the significance and impact of their research and the potential application with the wider community. We also ask applicants to include a brief description of how presentation and attendance at NZ Resus 2026 will assist their career development.
Applications will be considered by the NZ Resus 2026 Scientific review committee and successful recipients will be notified by 6 March 2026.
Format of Submission
- Abstracts must be submitted in English
- Abstract Submissions should be no more than 250 words
- You will be required to enter in a bio/career history for the Presenting Author/s (max. 50 words each)
- If you are submitting on behalf of the Presenter/s, please have their email address/s ready to include in the submission
- By submitting an abstract, authors consent to allow the New Zealand Resuscitation Council to publish on the conference or council website
Presentation Formats
Oral presentation timings will be confirmed on acceptance. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the conference. Each poster will be allocated a 1-metre-wide x 2-metre-high board and the poster must fit within this area - we recommend A0 portrait size.
Abstract Review
Abstracts for both oral and poster presentations will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Notification of acceptance will be via email by 20 March 2026.
Audiovisual Equipment
The conference will be held at Te Pae in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Each room at the venue will have a data projector, laptop, screen and sound system. The Conference Management Team will email you before the conference with details on where to upload your presentation.
Presenters' Registration
All presenters (other than those specifically sponsored or advised by the Conference Committee as being exempt from registration fees) are required to register for the conference by 30 March 2026. Presenters also need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
Use of AI
It is permitted to use AI tools and technologies to enhance the language and grammar of abstracts for this conference. This includes, but is not limited to, AI-powered proofreading and editing tools to improve the quality of written content.
Authors must disclose their use of AI in preparing their abstract during the submission process. Any unethical use of AI, such as plagiarising content or misrepresenting AI-generated contributions as original work, is strictly prohibited.
