The 2016 committee has planned the conference around Dunedin’s city centre not only for your convenience but also because there is so much packed in to see and do within this small area.
There is a wide variety of accommodation to suit all budgets available within walking distance of the conference venue. The Dunedin Centre is centrally located near the Octagon. It provides an impres
sive and modern conference facility with the use of the adjacent Town Hall auditorium for our trades exhibition.
The conference dinner will be held at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum. The beautiful foyer in the heart of Dunedin’s heritage district will set the tone for a magnificent evening. We promise to provide you a night of great food, great music, and of course a fun-filled Percy challenge.
Getting to Dunedin
It’s easy to get to Dunedin by air, road, or even by sea. Once you are here, getting around the city is relatively easy, as distances are not great.
By Air – The airport is located 22km west of central Dunedin and the drive takes approximately 30 minutes. There are shuttles providing a transfer service between the airport and the city.
Both Air New Zealand (http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/) and Jetstar (http://www.jetstar.com/nz/en/home) fly in to Dunedin. Book early to get the best deals!
Transfers to and from the airport - As Dunedin Airport is quite distance from the city centre, we will be collecting your travel details once the early registration deadline has passed to coordinate shuttle pick-ups from the airport. You will still need to pay for the transfer but the cost will be shared among other delegates travelling with (if there are others arriving around the same time) you making it much cheaper for you. |
5 must see things to do in Dunedin
We understand that conference-goers are often short on time so we have put together a list of five things to see and do that you will find located in the City Centre between the Dunedin Centre and Toitu. We are sure you can find time to squeeze a few of these in…
1.) Dessert at NOVA in the Octagon.
2.) Visit the Dunedin Public Art Gallery in the Octagon. Established in 1884, it was New Zealand’s first Art Gallery.
3.) Dinner at Josh Emmett’s Madam Woo restaurant in lower Stuart St.
4.) Visit the Dunedin Railway Station, the most photographed building in New Zealand.
5.) Breakfast at Otago Farmers Market on Saturday morning. Located next to the Railway Station you will find over 65 local vendors selling fresh fruit and produce, and a vast array of delicious treats.
