Cook Strait Earthquake Sequence Special Session
This session brings together a number of speakers to present on the characteristics of the 2013 Cook Strait earthquake sequence and its impacts of the built and natural environment in the upper South Island and the Wellington regions. A significant amount of information was captured during this sequence as a result of the large number of instrumented sites in the affected area and detailed documentation of the effects. Presentations will focus on the source and ground motion characteristics, landscape damage, residential and commercial buildings damage, impacts on the wine industry, bridge and road damage, and the emergency response.
