Welcome
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the organising committee, we are happy to invite you to Auckland for the 2014 New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) Annual Technical Conference.
We have already faced new earthquake engineering challenges in the months since the last NZSEE conference, with lower North Island and upper South Island subjected to the Cook Strait earthquake sequence. This has presented further challenges for the earthquake engineering community as we move forward from the Canterbury earthquake sequence.
The NZSEE Annual Technical Conference brings together representatives across the multi-disciplinary field of earthquake engineering. To this end, the theme of the 2014 conference is “Towards integrated seismic design”, and points to the need for more interaction and cooperation across these disciplines. This conference provides an excellent forum for the bringing together of these ideas and individuals.
The conference will take place from Friday 21 – Sunday 23 March 2014 and be held in the Aotea Centre, a venue conveniently located in the centre of the Auckland CBD and within walking distance from a range of accommodation options.
As the conference date draws closer, details of the keynote speakers, the conference program and other conference activities will be added to the conference website.
So please plan your visit to Auckland to attend this conference, and be able to meet with your peers and discuss the range of earthquake engineering challenges that New Zealand currently faces.
See you at the Conference
