Preliminary acceptance will be communicated by 18 December 2024. A member of the Scientific Committee of ISC 2026 will contact you before that date, should similar sessions be proposed.<\/p>\n\t<p><strong>Conference Theme <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The over-riding theme of the conference theme is &#8220;<strong>Sedimentation on active plate margins through time and space&#8221;. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can submit your session into a broad suite of symposia sub-themes covering modern to ancient sedimentary systems. These include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tectonic geomorphology and sedimentation<\/li>\n<li>Volcano-sedimentary processes and deposits<\/li>\n<li>Non-tropical carbonate deposition and diagenesis<\/li>\n<li>Seismic and volcanic influences on lacustrine sedimentation<\/li>\n<li>Seismicity and the relationship to submarine landslides\/ turbidites\/ mass transport deposits (MTDs) &#8211; modern and ancient<\/li>\n<li>Interaction of tectonic and eustatic processes in the sedimentary record<\/li>\n<li>Glacio-fluvial sedimentation<\/li>\n<li>M\u0101ori and Pasifica (Polynesian cultures of the SW Pacific) view of sediments and sedimentary process.<\/li>\n<li>Downslope and along slope deep marine processes<\/li>\n<li>Tropical carbonate deposition and diagenesis<\/li>\n<li>Modern sedimentary processes and deposits: analogues for the rock record<\/li>\n<li>Sediments, plants, and animals: fossils, trace fossils, paleoecology, and evolution<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable sedimentary resources: aggregates, critical minerals, and the energy transition<\/li>\n<li>Sedimentology and society: Societal impacts on sedimentary systems, shallow marine processes and hazards, sea level change<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other sub-themes are also being considered. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<strong>Session Proposal Format<\/strong><br \/>\nEach proposal must include:\n<ul>\n<li>Title of the session<\/li>\n<li>Session lead convenor and co-convenors (names and affiliations)<\/li>\n<li>Description of aim and content of the session (max half page)<br \/>\nLinks to the themes for the Scientific Programme<\/li>\n<li>Intended format for the session (e.g., poster only, oral + poster presentations)<\/li>\n<li>To begin the submission process, please click on the &#8216;Click here to submit your proposal&#8217; button at the top of the page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<strong>Timeline<\/strong><br \/>\nProposal submission deadline: <strong>22 November 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nNotification of selection: <strong>18 December 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nUploading of session information to website: <strong>January 2025<\/strong>\n<p>Do not hesitate to contact the ICG 2026 Organisers if you have any questions: <a href=\"mailto:isc2026@confer.co.nz\">isc2026@confer.co.nz<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/confer.co.nz\/isc2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Key-Dates.jpg\" alt=\"Key Dates\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1350\" width=\"2400\" title=\"Key Dates\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for Sessions Session submissions have now closed The Organising Committee of the ISC 2026 is now calling for Session Proposals before the closing date of 22 November 2024.
