All fees stated below are inclusive of 15% Goods and Service Tax (GST) and in NZ Dollar ($).

Payment is required at the end of the registration process by Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard or Visa accepted). For group bookings, please contact the conference organiser before starting your registration at isc2026@confer.co.nz.

Early Career Scientist Definition:
An Early Career Scientist (ECS) is a scientist with no more than 7 years of full time experience since completing their Ph.D. (excluding periods of parental or other care leave). The ECSC members are early career scientists active in sedimentological research as demonstrated by their publication record (minimum 3 research articles in peer-reviewed publications).

*Proof of status: You will be asked to upload proof of status for these registration categories during the registration process: IAS Member, Student, Early Career Scientist and Retired. If you provide inadequate proof, your registration will be updated to the appropriate category, and you will be required to pay the difference.

Full Registration includes:

  • All day conference catering on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (food during morning and afternoon coffee breaks and substantial buffet lunches including hot food provided).
  • Morning coffee break food on Friday
  • Welcome Reception drinks and canapes on Sunday 25 January.
  • Some refreshments and light snacks during Poster Session/s and Farewell Party.

Not included/an additional cost:

  • Mid Conference Field Trips on Wednesday 28 January (minimal fees charged to cover any catering and transport costs).
  • Gala Dinner on Thursday 29 January
  • Pre/Post Conference Field Trips
  • Accommodation: You can book your accommodation during the registration process - we only require your credit card details to secure the booking, no pre-payment is required.

Registration cancellation and refund policy

We understand that circumstances can change.

  • Cancellations must be notified in writing by email to isc2026@confer.co.nz.
  • Cancellations received on or before 19 September 2025 will be charged an administration fee of $100.
  • No refund will be given for registration cancellations received after 19 September 2025 (including "no shows" at the conference).
  • Registrations can be transferred to another delegate at any time.
