Workshop Descriptions   Day 1 Workshops  Stream 1 (1 - 3pm) "Introduction to Incredible Years" This workshop is intended for those who are interested in Incredible Years and would like an introduction to the philosophy, rationale and content of the parent programme.  This workshop will provide an opportunity to experience the Incredible Years collaborative process. Of particular relevance for those who would like to understand what the Incredible Years model is all about, this workshop is also for those who are in a position to support others who are delivering the programme and for those who would like a "taster" prior to attending basic training.  Stream 2 (1 - 3pm) "Cultural Enhancements" This workshop stream is designed to showcase the exciting and innovative ways in which experienced Maori and Pacific Group Leaders have been weaving together their own cultural knowledge, understandings and world view with the Incredible Years model.  These group leaders will share their experiences of successfully delivering Incredible Years, meeting both the specific needs of whanau and maintaining programme fidelity.  1 - 2.15pm Shared experiences of Maori Group Leaders 2.20 - 3pm Shared experiences of Pacific Group Leaders Stream 3 (1 - 3pm) "Incredible Years for Managers" This stream is intended for Managers, Team Leaders and those responsible for supporting the delivery of Incredible Years Parent Programmes within their organisation.  This workshop will be particularly relevant for those considering implementation of Incredible Years within their service, and who would like to maximise the success of this intervention by understanding the specific service delivery needs. 1 - 3.35pm Practical Needs in IY service delivery (Ingrid Altena) 1.40 - 2.15pm Ministry of Education Contracts (Virginia Burton-Konia) 2.20 - 3.00pm The Werry Centre Model - Accreditation and Peer Coaching (Ingrid Altena) Stream 4 (1 - 3pm) "Skills Workshops for Parent Group Leaders" These workshops are intended for Parent Group Leaders who wish to develop their skills and understanding of some of the key processes within the Incredible Years model. 1 - 1.35pm      The value of Experiential Learning for Parents (Lesley Stanley) 1.40 - 2.15pm   Group Processes in Incredible Years (Dianne Lees, Lesley Stanley) 2.20 - 3pm      Academic, Emotion, Persistence Coaching (Dianne Lees) Day 2 Workshops Stream 1 (1 - 3pm) "New Zealand Research in Incredible Years" This research stream is intended to provide an overview of recent and current Incredible Years research occurring within New Zealand. 1.30-2pm Incredible Years Outcomes Research (Dianne Lees) 2-2.30pm Research (Peter Stanley) 2.30-3pm Evaluating the impact of the Werry Centre Incredible Years training model (Ingrid        Altena) Stream 2 (1 - 3pm) "Cultural Enhancements" Building on the Cultural Workshop Stream on Day 1, this stream continues the theme of cultural enhancements and innovations in Incredible Years delivery. 1.30 - 2pm IY with Aboriginal parents (Tracey Gowans, Adelaide) 2 - 2.30pm Learnings from Paihia and Rotorua Cultural Workshops 2.30 - 3pm Pacific families and group leaders experiences with Incredible Years (Max Maiava) Stream 3 (1 - 3pm) "Accredited Group Leaders with Carolyn Webster-Stratton" This session will provide a unique opportunity for Accredited Group Leaders to spend time with Carolyn in an informal discussion group setting. Specific questions for Carolyn should be submitted prior to the workshop. Stream 4 (1 - 3 pm) "Maximising Outcomes for Parents - Accreditation Competencies" The Incredible Years Accreditation process involves the development of a set of skills which are integral to the fidelity of the programme.  Adhering to the programme fidelity ensures that Group Leaders are maximising the positive outcomes for families/wh?nau. This will be a practical skills- based workshop for Group Leaders which will cover the specific competencies required for accreditation and will clarify accreditation expectations.  Those attending will have opportunities to practice and develop their Incredible Years skills.  Group leaders currently undertaking Accreditation, or those considering applying for Accreditation, will find this workshop useful.
